Get a Developmental Screen

Developmental Resources

Curious about your child’s development?

The Ages and Stages Questionnaire is a child development screener that allows you to check in on how your child is growing and learning. There are two different versions of the ASQ: the ASQ-3 and ASQ:SE-2.

The Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ-3) is a quick, 10-15 minute screening tool for children 1 month to 5 years of age that looks at 5 areas of child development:

  • Communication
  • Fine motor (little muscles, like fingers)
  • Gross motor (big muscles, like legs)
  • Problem solving
  • Personal social

The ASQ Social Emotional (ASQ: SE-2) screening tool is for children 1 month to 6 years of age and looks at the following areas of social emotional development:

  • Self-regulation
  • Compliance (follow directions)
  • Communication
  • Adaptive functioning (every day activities, like getting dressed)
  • Autonomy (independence)
  • Affect (show emotions)
  • Interactions with people

We recommend that if you complete an ASQ: SE-2, you also fill out an ASQ-3 to accompany it.
